Deputies: Newark resident charged after fraud investigation

Deputies say a Newark resident was arrested following a fraud investigation in Lyons.

Charles Conlin, 64, of Newark was charged with petit larceny and misuse of food stamps. Both of the charges are misdemeanors and stem from a complaint that alleged he used another person’s EBT card.

As a result, he fraudulently received a total of $542 in benefits.

Conlin was issued an appearance ticket and will answer the charges at a later date.
