Early voting in New York: Surge of voters show up to polls outside of New York City

How many people turned out to vote over the first official weekend of early voting in New York?

The answer is more than 261,000 ballots.

Less than 98,000 of those ballots were cast in New York City. Meanwhile, 164,000 were cast outside of the city.

Monroe County, located in the Finger Lakes region, saw among the highest turnout in the first two days of voting.
