Ithaca man arrested one day after homicide in city: 39-year-old held at Tompkins County Jail on second-degree murder charge

Police say they have made an arrest following a homicide in the city of Ithaca on October 28th.

The victim was identified as Michael Monroe, 38, of Ithaca.


On Saturday, October 29th investigators with the Ithaca Police Department arrested Jeremiah Jordan, 39, of Ithaca for second-degree murder.

He was arraigned in city court and remanded to the Tompkins County Jail.

IPD thanked New York State Police and the Tompkins County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance in the investigation.

The investigation into the homicide remains active despite the murder charge. Anyone with information that could help investigators is asked to call (607) 272-3245.
