NYSCOPBA says a guard was injured at an incident at the Cayuga Correctional Facility.
An incident on October 16th left a guard with three slash wounds to the face.
While no weapon was recovered, authorities say the incident occurred when the guard tried to remove an inmate from a cell.
That individual had barricaded himself in the cell and refused to exit.
The investigation into the incident remains active.
