Police investigate shots fired in Ithaca: One person in custody after loaded handgun found, more suspects sought

The Ithaca Police Department reports that on Tuesday around 11:30 p.m. officers were dispatched to multiple shots fired complaints between Plain and Cayuga streets.

When they arrived a description of the alleged suspect was obtained.


Following a search, 19-year-old Travoris Reynolds, of Florida, was found to be in possession of a loaded .38 caliber handgun.

He was arrested and charged with felony criminal possession of a weapon.

Police said in a release that following arraignment, Reynolds was held on $35,000 cash bail.

Police are still looking for others involved in the shooting. Anyone with information about it, or who may have witnessed it are asked to call IPD at (607) 272-3245.
