Bloomfield man charged with felony strangulation after investigation: Police say victim lost consciousness

The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a Bloomfield man following an incident that occurred in May.

On Monday Gerald Ahearn, 59, of Bloomfield was charged with a felony count of strangulation after an investigation into a May 24th incident.

He’s accused of applying pressure to the neck and throat of an unnamed victim, which caused them to lose consciousness.

Ahearn was arraigned and released without incident. The charges will be answered at a later date in local court.
