The Buffalo Sabres stayed perfect on their four-game road trip as they cruised past the Vancouver Canucks, 5-1, on Saturday night at Rogers Arena. With the victory, Buffalo has won four of their first five games this season.
Rasmus Dahlin opened the scoring in the first period with his fifth goal of the season. Alex Tuch extended the lead later in the period with his team-leading sixth goal of the season.
Connor Garland put Vancouver on the board in the second period and cut the Sabres’ lead to 2-1.
Buffalo turned it up a notch in the third period and scored three goals to pull away and seal the victory. Victor Olofsson found the back of the net twice, his third and fourth of the season, and Zemgus Girgensons tapped one into the empty net for his second.
Craig Anderson turned aside 29-of-30 shots to earn his second win of the season.
The Sabres will wrap up their road trip on Tuesday night in Seattle against the Kraken. The puck drop is slated for 10 p.m.
