Greenlight Networks is growing and hiring.

Greenlight Networks, a leader in the fiber-to-the-home service in New York State, announced this week that it will host its first Construction and Operations Open House on Saturday, October 22nd, at its Rochester headquarters, 1777 E. Henrietta Road. The event, which will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., features live technical demonstrations to help educate attendees on what working in the fiber industry entails and highlight the roles needed to support the buildout and servicing of Greenlight’s rapidly expanding broadband network.

“Our Construction and Operations Open House is a great opportunity for the Rochester community to meet our team, learn more about what fiber networking is all about, and really understand what it takes to support New York’s fastest Internet,” said Beth Delforte, Greenlight’s Vice President of Talent Acquisition and Development. “We welcome ambitious and motivated individuals to stop down and join us for the morning. Learn more about the kind of work you can expect to do at Greenlight and perhaps, challenge yourself to learn new skills by applying to one of our job openings.”

Attendees can visit different stations to learn about the different career paths available within the operations field and within Greenlight, ranging from careers in construction to installation and regulatory. Demonstrations will include the ability to see and understand what “make ready construction” means in the fiber industry, and other hands-on tutorials showcasing different equipment used daily by our operations teams. Construction trucks, installation and repair vans, and underground machines and tools will also be on display.

Greenlight team members will be on hand to share their experiences, answer questions, and walk attendees through a typical day in their role. They will also offer advice to ensure jobseekers gain a better understanding of the skill sets required to work within the industry.

Greenlight is actively hiring in the Rochester market for operationally focused positions. Interested candidates are encouraged to bring their resumes and will have an opportunity to interview on site, if time allows. More information on current open positions can be found on www.greenlightnetworks.com/careerspage.

Greenlight fiber services are available in neighborhoods throughout Rochester, Buffalo, Binghamton, and the Capitol Region. The company most recently celebrated a major connectivity milestone when it successfully extended its network to reach more than 100,000 households statewide.

With an investment from Oak Hill Capital last June, Greenlight has plans to further accelerate its fiber buildouts within its existing service areas, as well as new communities. The company’s sought-after fiber network is now available across 21 municipalities, and it expects to reach another nearly 30,000 households by the end of 2022.

Greenlight’s expansion model embraces neighbors doing outreach, raising awareness, and helping with advance signups of interest. A map of Greenlight’s service locations, including areas currently under construction and planned expansion areas, can be found on GreenlightNetworks.com.
