Yankees top Guardians in Game 1 of ALDS

The New York Yankees picked up a 4-1 win over the Cleveland Guardians in Game 1 of the American League Division Series on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium. 

The long ball propelled New York to victory as Harrison Bader crushed his first home run in pinstripes and Anthony Rizzo smacked a two-run home run. 

Jose Trevino drove in a run with a sacrifice fly, which ended up being the game-winning hit. 

Gerrit Cole surrendered a run over 6 1/3 innings while allowing four hits, one walk, and striking out eight. 

Jonathan Loáisiga, Wandy Peralta, and Clay Holmes combined to get the final eight outs. 

Game 2 of the best-of-five series is set for Thursday at 7:37 p.m. Nestor Cortes will get the ball for the Yankees.
