For the first time, the Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association is partnering with Lucky Hare Brewing Company, Two Goats Brewery, Wagner Valley Brewery, Seneca Lake Brewing Company, and Horseheads Brewing to promote a clean, healthy Seneca Lake.
These breweries will produce and promote PURE Harvest Ale (PURE Astrogoat Fresh Hop IPA at Two Goats), highlighting Seneca Lake water as their #1 ingredient and the reliance of Finger Lakes breweries on a clean local water source. It is available now at all five Seneca Lake watershed taprooms in draft or cans and will be available through the fall. A portion of proceeds will benefit Seneca Pure Waters for each beer sold.
Lucky Hare, in collaboration with Seneca Pure Waters, has also created a custom can label, with the new beer being released at their Beer Release Party at their Hector, NY taproom on October 12th from 5pm-8pm. There will be live music and Lucky Hare restaurant Babe’s Burger will also be open. This event is open to the public.
“Reliable access to clean water is critical for a brewery because without water there is no beer” said Richard Theil of Lucky Hare Brewery. “Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association is dedicated to preserving the quality of the Seneca Lake watershed. Partnering with Seneca Lake Pure Waters Association to help ensure access to that most important raw material fits with Lucky Hare’s goals of sustainability and being a good environmental steward.”
PURE Harvest Ale will also be available at the Live from Linden Wine Series on Saturday, October 14th on Linden Street in Geneva. Tickets available at www.livefromlinden.com.
Seneca Pure Waters has hopes that the success of this partnership will lead to an expansion in collaboration with more local breweries in future years and will increase awareness on the importance of a clean and healthy Seneca Lake.
