Four officers at Five Points Correctional Facility were injured after an attack during a contraband search.
The inmate, who was not identified, but serving a lengthy sentence for attempted arson and assault convictions, was removed from his cell after making threats to harm himself.
He then became uncooperative. A physical confrontation ensued.
The inmate was placed into a cell. However, the officers involved suffered injuries to their back, arms, and wrists.
One officer was even bit by the inmate.
