The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a North Rose resident following a property damage crash in the town of Huron.

It happened Saturday, October 8th around 10:36 p.m., according to a news release.

Christopher Dewaters, 44, was arrested for DWI after traveling west on Ridge Road in Huron while in an intoxicated condition.

His vehicle left the roadway and struck a house. Dewaters then attempted to leave the scene of the accident – striking a large rock in the front yard of the residence where his vehicle ended up.

Deputies say Dewaters refused subsequent tests and was also charged with DWI-refusal and open container.

He was transported to the Wayne County jail for arraignment.
