An Auburn man will spend the next several years in prison after threatening asset protection employees at the Auburn Walmart with a knife.
Karl Diggs, 45, was convicted in June of first-degree robbery and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
Both charges are felony counts.
On December 11th Diggs threatened asset protection workers at the Auburn Walmart with a knife as he left with stolen items.
He was taken into custody later.
Based on criminal record, Cayuga County Judge Thomas Leone sentenced Diggs to 15 years to life.
The Cayuga County District Attorney’s Office applauded the sentencing decision based on Diggs’ being classified as a persistent felony offender.
