The New York Yankees wrapped up the 2022 regular season with a 4-2 loss to the Texas Rangers on Wednesday evening at Globe Life Field. New York finished with a 99-63 record.

Domingo Germán surrendered four runs on seven hits over 4 1/3 innings while walking one and striking out six.

Albert Abreu, Miguel Castro, Lou Trivino, and Lucas Luetge had scoreless appearances out of the bullpen.

Kyle Higashioka stayed red-hot at the plate as he smoked an RBI single to open the scoring. Jose Trevino plated the other run with his 11th home run of the season.

The Yankees will get five days off before the American League Division Series begins on Tuesday night at Yankee Stadium. New York will play the Cleveland Guardians or the Tampa Bay Rays in a best-of-five series.
