Deputies say a Newark man was arrested on Sunday after a length investigation into an unsafe driver in the town of Arcadia this summer.
The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of Sony Adams, 31, of Newark for driving while ability impaired by drugs and other traffic violations following a complaint of a vehicle traveling erratically between Arcadia and Lyons.
Deputies observed the vehicle crossing the center double solid line multiple times and driving without a passenger side headlight on July 17th.
Adams admitted to smoking marijuana after leaving work in Macedon, and was found to be driving on a suspended learner’s permit. It was determined that Adams was impaired after completing field sobriety testing.
A blood sample returned a positive test for THC and Methadone.
On Sunday, Adams was transported from his residence to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office for processing and released on appearance tickets for driving while ability impaired by drugs and aggravated unlicensed operation.
Deputies were assisted by New York State Police.
