Hit-and-run suspect assaults deputy after incident in Lyons

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office reports the arrest of a 27-year-old following an investigation into a hit-and-run.


According to deputies, they located the suspect’s vehicle involved in the collision at the Family Dollar store in Lyons.

During that investigation, Thomas exited her vehicle and failed to cooperate with deputies.

A physical altercation ensued between the suspect, identified as Megan Thomas, 27, of Clyde, and the deputy. The deputy sustained minor injuries and was treated at an area hospital.


The incident took place Sunday around 2:20 p.m.

Thomas was arrested for assault on a police officer, menacing a police officer, obstruction, resisting arrest, and endangering the welfare of a child.

Thomas was held pending arraignment and will answer the charges at a later date.
