Pete Alonso crushed a three-run home run in the bottom of the fourth. That was his 40th long ball of the season. Jeff McNeil scored the fourth run in the bottom of the eighth on a balk.
Carlos Carrasco surrendered four runs on six hits over three innings while walking one and striking out two. Trevor Williams allowed two runs in relief.
The Mets will try to bounce back on Wednesday with Taijuan Walker on the mound. The first pitch is scheduled for 7:10 p.m.
