Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer announced the push to fight ‘Rainbow Fentanyl’.
He wants to add $290 million in the federal budget to fight the spread of fentanyl and fund overdose response strategy teams.
The announcement comes after public warnings from the Drug Enforcement Administration about the dangers of ‘rainbow’ fentanyl.
“I am going to make sure that in the federal budget that we’re voting on this week there is $290 million to fight the scourge of Fentanyl and rainbow Fentanyl, in particular,” Schumer said.
Drug traffickers are targeting kids and teens with the rainbow colored drug.
