Ithaca man who posed as NYSEG worker in custody on burglary charge with more pending

Police have provided an update on the burglaries that took place in the city, where a person posed as a NYSEG worker.

Nicholas Denmark, 29, of Ithaca was arrested for felony burglary, with additional charges pending.

IPD thanked the public for their assistance with the investigation.



Police: Man falsely identified himself as NYSEG worker before burglary

Police say they’re looking for a person responsible for a burglary in Ithaca who falsely identified himself as a NYSEG worker.

Around 10:34 a.m. police responded to the 100 block of North Cayuga Street after a male suspect forced entry into an unoccupied building and stole several items.


The suspect then stole items out of a vehicle in the same area.

Police say the suspect falsely identified himself as a NYSEG worker and gained unlawful access to other buildings in the area.

IPD is looking to identify the suspect, who is described as being slim, with facial hair, a tattoo on the left hand, around 5’8″ tall, wearing a red shirt and pants with white stripes.
