The New York Yankees blanked the Boston Red Sox, 2-0, in a rain-shortened six-inning game on Sunday night at Yankee Stadium to complete the four-game sweep.

New York jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on Jose Trevino’s two-out RBI single to left field. The other run came in the bottom of the sixth on a fielding error.

Oswald Peraza, who has not played much over the last couple of weeks, collected a pair of hits.

Nestor Cortes tossed six shutout innings while allowing just one hit and striking out five.

The Yankees will head to Toronto to open a three-game series with the Blue Jays on Monday at 7:07 p.m. New York can clinch the American League East with a victory as the magic number is down to two.
