Chris Bassitt started on the mound and surrendered two runs over eight innings. The right-hander improved to 15-8 on the season.
Eduardo Escobar led the offense as he crushed a grand slam, his 19th home run of the season. Brandon Nimmo drove in a pair of runs with a single. Mark Vientos collected his second and third Major League RBIs with a single and a double. Jeff McNeil chipped in with a run-scoring double.
Jacob deGrom will get the ball on Saturday as the Mets go for the series win. The first pitch is set for 4:07 pm.
