Harriet Tubman mural to be dedicated Saturday in downtown Auburn

The scaffolding has come down, and a mural depicting the major events in the life of Underground Railroad leader Harriet Tubman will be dedicated Saturday in downtown Auburn.

Ribbon cutting for Arthur Hutchinson mural set for 1 p.m.

Auburn City Clerk Chuck Mason has the schedule of the day’s events.

The mural is by local artist Arthur Hutchinson, who was one of five new members named to the city’s Public Arts Commission by the city council at its Thursday meeting. The others were Janie MicGlire, Sara Douglas, Nikki Schwarz, and Sam Giannettino.

The ribbon cutting is scheduled for 1 p.m. Saturday. Listen to my full Inside the FLX conversation with Auburn City Clerk Chuck Mason below.
