The National Weather Service has confirmed that a tornado touched down in Wayland, Steuben County.
It happened Monday, September 19 around 7:30 p.m.
The tornado was rated an EF-1 with estimated winds of 90 mph.
“Convergent tree damage indicative of a tornado was found starting around Buffalo Street just to the West-Northwest of Wayland,” the NWS said after a survey.
There were no reported injuries or fatalities from the tornado.
It traveled around 1.9 miles and was 150 yards wide, according to surveyors.
