Newark awaiting state word on DRI project requests

The village of Newark has submitted a list of project requests to the state for its $10 million dollar Downtown Revitalization Initiative (DRI) award.

State reviewing project list totaling $13 million

The village’s DRI committee worked from May to July to come up with a list of seven projects totaling $13 million. That list will have to be pared down to $10 million to meet program requirements.

Newark Mayor Jonathan Taylor says the projects will be used to leverage other investments in the village that could total over $80 million.
