Deputies say a Camillus woman was arrested on Tuesday for strangling, neglecting, and abusing an 11-year-old boy.
Susan Orendorf, 44, was charged with second-degree unlawful imprisonment and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
The boy was handcuffed to a bed frame, forced to sleep on the floor, and was not fed for days at a time. The boy was taken to an area hospital for malnourishment.
Investigators say Orendorf strangled the boy, disciplined him and degraded him during the ordeal.
Investigators say the abuse came to light by a school resource officer at the school the boy attended.
The investigation remains active. Anyone with information that could assist police are asked to call (315) 435-3092.
