A Wayne County contractor has pleaded guilty to one count of petit larceny after being accused of grand larceny earlier this year.
Kevin Hall, of Arcadia, pleaded guilty to the charge in Phelps Town Court.
While he’s scheduled to be sentenced in November, prosecutors say he won’t spend any time behind bars.
That’s partly because he paid back the money he took from those who hired him to do work.
According to the Finger Lakes Times Hall failed to put more than $20,000 in escrow, as required by law. That $20,000+ payment was a down payment for a project in Ontario County.
Hall didn’t complete the work, and didn’t have the necessary building permits or drawings to complete it.
Investigators say there are other possible victims. However, those cases could be handled as civil court matters.
Hall originally faced a charge of grand larceny.
