The New York Yankees made a couple of roster moves ahead of Sunday’s series finale against the Milwaukee Brewers.
The team reinstated first baseman Anthony Rizzo from the 10-day injured list and optioned Estevan Florial to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
Rizzo has not played since August 31 due to lower-back discomfort and headaches from an epidural injection. The 33-year-old is slashing .225/.367/.482 with 30 home runs and 71 RBIs this season.
Florial was sent back down for the fourth time this season. During limited playing time, the 24-year-old struggled offensively, collecting just three hits in 31 at-bats.
