State police say a 17-year-old has been charged with murder and faces other charges as well after a stabbing in Williamson.

On Friday around 7:45 p.m. troopers responded to 4949 Ridge Road in Williamson for a reported stabbing.

When troopers arrived they learned a 19-year-old male had been stabbed. That individual was airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital where they were pronounced dead.

A 17-year-old was taken into custody after being transported to Rochester General Hospital for an evaluation.

Police didn’t identify the teen, but noted that the male was charged with second-degree murder and second-degree burglary.

He was arraigned in youth court and remanded to the Hillbrook Juvenile Detention Center without bail.

The Wayne County Sheriff’s Office assisted with the investigation, according to state police.
