The village of Waterloo and surrounding community could soon have a new childcare option if things go to plan in the coming months.
Healthy Kids, a New Windsor-based organization, approached the Waterloo Central School District about establishing a new childcare center in Waterloo.
The district referred them to the village because they wanted a downtown location. Now, they own a building between 8-10 West Main Street.
As part of the collaborative effort, the village was awarded an $811,000 block grant for renovation of the space into a childcare center.
Healthy Kids operates 70 facilities in New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and New Hampshire, according to records.
An exact opening date is unclear at this time.
