Upgraded Thruway rest stops in Junius, Clifton Springs getting closer, but not complete yet

How close are the New York State Thruway rest stops to being complete?

The $450 million project is getting closer with two Finger Lakes area stops opening in the coming months.

Delays brought on by the pandemic meant that locations like Clifton Springs, which was intended to open in March.

If you’ve driven by the stops recently the progress is evident.

However, as News10NBC investigated, they are running behind still with an unclear completion date.

The Junius location is said to be opening this month. The Clifton Springs location is said to be opening early next year.

More specific information was not immediately available on the state’s website.
