Mets snap skid with win over Pirates

The New York Mets picked up a much-needed 7-1 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday night at Citi Field. The win snapped a three-game skid.

Carlos Carrasco got the ball and fired six innings of one-run ball while striking out a season-high 11 batters. Seth Lugo and Joely Rodríguez followed in relief and had scoreless appearances.


Francisco Lindor crushed his 24th home run of the season. Daniel Vogelbach collected two hits and three RBIs. Mark Vientos recorded his first Major League hit and RBI, while Pete Alonso also plated a run.

Taijuan Walker will get the start in the second game of this four-game series on Friday at 7:10 p.m.
