Rochester Red Wings cruise past Lehigh Valley

The Rochester Red Wings cruised past the Lehigh Valley IronPigs, 10-3, on Wednesday afternoon at Frontier Field.

Rochester trailed 3-1 after two innings but stormed back with seven unanswered runs to secure their third-straight victory.


Daniel Johnson led the Red Wings’ offense with two hits and four RBIs, including his fourth home run of the season. Andrew Stevenson crushed his 15th long ball, and Wilmer Perez drove in two runs with a pair of doubles. John Nogowski and Adrian Sanchez also plated runs. Five of the nine batters in the starting lineup notched multi-hit games.

Joan Adon started on the mound and surrendered three runs on seven hits over five innings while walking one and striking out five. The right-hander improved to 2-2 on the season. Juan Minaya, Matt Cronin, Matt Brill, and Luis Avilán all had scoreless appearances out of the bullpen.

The third game of this six-game series is set for Thursday at 6:05 p.m.
