New York Mets starting pitcher Max Scherzer is scheduled to make a rehab start with the Syracuse Mets on Wednesday night at NBT Bank Stadium.
Scherzer is working his way back from left oblique irritation. He is eligible to return to New York’s rotation on September 19.
The 38-year-old is 9-4 with a 2.26 ERA this season and has struck out 153 batters over 127 2/3 innings.
The first pitch for Wednesday’s game is slated for 6:35 p.m.
