Mets get swept at home by Cubs

The New York Mets fell to the Chicago Cubs, 6-3, on Wednesday night at Citi Field and were swept for the first time this season.

David Peterson started on the mound and did not make it out of the first inning. The left-hander recorded just one out and allowed five runs. Chicago scored all six of its runs in the first.

Tomás Nido crushed his second home run of the season, and Pete Alonso smacked his 35th.

The Mets will open a four-game series with the Pittsburgh Pirates on Thursday. The first pitch is set for 7:20 p.m.
