Geneva City School Board Member Christen Davis has resigned from her post to accept a teaching position within the Geneva City School District.
The school board has opted to fill the vacancy until the next election by appointment and is seeking applications from residents interested in serving.
Davis’s resignation was accepted at the board’s Sept. 12 meeting. Later at the same meeting, Davis was appointed to the position of special education teacher at the middle school.
Anyone interested in being considered for appointment to the board should submit a resume and statement of interest to Board Clerk Adrianne Miller at [email protected]. Residency within the school district is required. Applications must be received by 4 p.m. on Sept. 26. The successful candidate will serve through the next school board election, May 16, 2023, and will have the option to run for the remainder of Davis’s term, which commences after the vote and expires June 30, 2027.
