The committee appointed to research the concept of Yates County becoming a Constitutional County has disbanded.
Last month, the Yates County Legislature was largely ridiculed at the body’s August meeting. Members of the public questioned why the move was necessary. Largely because it felt symbolic more than useful.
Committee Member Mark Morris announced that the ad-hoc committee dedicated to the issue has disbanded and future meetings canceled.
He said no taxpayer money was spent on the issue.
