Waterloo driver fell asleep at the wheel, crashed into utility pole

Deputies say they were called to a serious crash that happened around 11:10 a.m. on Saturday on Waterloo Geneva Road.

David Brinson, 59, of Waterloo was traveling weest when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a utility pole on the north side of Waterloo Geneva Road.


Brinson told first responders that he fell asleep while driving, which caused him to go off the road. Brinson was transported to Geneva General Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.

Waterloo Geneva Road was shut down for several hours while NYSEG worked at the scene.
