The New York Mets rolled past the Miami Marlins, 9-3, on Sunday afternoon at LoanDepot Park to secure a series win.
Taijuan Walker started on the mound and tossed seven innings of one-run ball while allowing five hits and striking out 10. Seth Lugo followed Walker in relief and surrendered two runs before Adam Ottavino recorded the final three outs of the contest.
Brandon Nimmo, Tomás Nido, and Eduardo Escobar all homered. Nimmo and Nido each collected three RBIs, while Pete Alonso and Jeff McNeil chipped in with RBIs. Five of the nine players in the starting lineup notched multi-hit games.
The Mets will head home to open a three-game series with the Chicago Cubs on Monday at Citi Field. The first pitch is slated for 7:10 p.m.
