The New York Mets got one of their starting pitchers back on Sunday.
The team reinstated right-hander Carlos Carrasco from the 15-day injured list and optioned reliever Adonis Medina to Triple-A Syracuse to make room on the roster.
Carrasco returns after missing three weeks with a mild left oblique strain. The 35-year-old owns a 3.96 ERA over 127 1/3 innings this season.
Medina was sent down after allowing five runs (four earned) in Saturday’s 7-1 loss to the Washington Nationals.
The Mets will wrap up their three-game series with the Nationals at 1:40 p.m.
