The group will host Seneca Heritage Day Saturday, September 3 from 2-4 p.m. at the historic Overacker Schoolhouse at the corner of Route 364 and North Vine Valley Road in the town of Middlesex.
Peter Jemison, formerly with the Ganondagan Historic Site will give a talk titled “Who owns the past? We are still here.”
Bill Crouse and the Allegany River Dancers will perform in authentic Seneca regalia, and there’s free ice cream.
Win also recounted the famous Seneca legend of Bare Hill.
Funding for the event is provided by the Mitchell Community Family Leadership Fund, the Canandaigua Lake Watershed Association, and the town of Middlesex.
