Auburn teen faces felony charges after robbery at knifepoint

Police say an Auburn man faces felony charges after a robbery at knifepoint.

It happened Sunday, August 28 around 8 p.m. when police received a call from the victim, who said they were robbed at knifepoint by Thomas Michael Trathen, 18, of Auburn.

The victim stated they were walking with Trathen in the area of Merriman Street and Chapman Avenue when he pulled a knife and demanded an audio speaker and the victim’s own knife.

He gave up the items, and reported the incident.

Trathen was taken into custody a short distance away. He pleaded not guilty to first-degree robbery, first-degree criminal contempt, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

He was remained to the Cayuga County Jail without bail.
