The Ithaca Police Department says they responded to an attempted robbery complaint at the Five Below store on South Meadow Street Tuesday.
The call came in around 8:25 p.m. with an armed suspect involved.
Upon arrival, officers located the suspect outside of the store behind an adjacent business where they were taken into custody without further incident.
They were identified as Emily Morris, 26, of Ithaca, who was charged with first-degree attempted robbery.
Police say the victim reported prior to calling the police, the suspect loaded a bag of items and left the store without paying. The victim added that when confronting Morris- she pulled a knife on her and fled through an emergency door.
Morris was arraigned and will answer the charges at a later date.
