Count Olympia Sports among the retail fatalities of the last decade. The sports store, which operated more than 70 locations in its prime will close in the coming weeks.
None of its locations will survive the latest round of closures.

Brick and mortar retail has struggled mightily over the last decade, with the rise of online sales. Even traditional brick and mortar retail sporting goods stores, like Dick’s Sporting Goods, have moved in the digital direction.
Olympia once had locations littered across Western New York, the Finger Lakes, and Central New York.
Now, only two locations remained before the closure announcement in the Southern Tier.
Olympia Sports was established in 1975. Its website now reads “Everything must go! Closing sale!” with no indication of how soon the stores will shutter.
