Police have provided an update on a stabbing that happened on August 17 around 6:20 p.m. along North Meadow Street.
A person collecting a curb side delivery was stabbed in the left shoulder by an unknown assailant. That suspect, who was unknown to the victim, was taken into custody on August 25 around 3:15 p.m.
Zahmear Lawson, 22, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, as well as fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon.
The investigation remains active. However, Lawson is being held at the Tompkins County Jail at this time.
