On Monday around 7:42 a.m. state police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of East Genesee Street and Rickard Road in the town of Skaneateles.
An Express van was traveling north on Rickard Road, being operated by 22-year-old Manuel Lozano-Media, of Syracuse, when he failed to yield the right of way for a tractor-trailer headed west.
The tractor-trailer was operated by James Olin, 44, of Syracuse.
Police say the tractor-trailer struck the rear passenger side of the van, causing it to travel down a steep embankment and overturn.
The driver of the van was not injured. However, the driver of the tractor-trailer operator had to be extricated.
The investigation into the crash remains active.
