Young woman, days-old infant hospitalized after vehicle fleeing police crashes at busy Rochester intersection

A three-day old infant and a 21-year-old woman remain hospitalized after a devastating crash on Bay Street.

It happened Thursday, a little after 5 p.m. when troopers attempted to stop a driver for a traffic violation. That driver failed to stop, and barreled through a red light, colliding with a vehicle occupied by Moises Daniel Quinones Santiago, 30; Zuleyshka Nicolle Noriega Nunez, 21, and the days-old infant.

The driver of the fleeing vehicle was identified as Kron Hathway, 21, who had a warrant for menacing. He crossed the intersection of Goodman and Bay streets, where the collision occurred.

Nunez is in critical condition. The baby is listed in stable condition at this time.

Hathway is hospitalized for non-life threatening injuries. He was arraigned on several new charges including second-degree criminal possession, third-degree criminal possession, and three counts of second-degree assault. He will be remanded to the Monroe County Jail in lieu of $300,000 cash bail.

Additional charges are possible, troopers said.
