Yankees shut out by Blue Jays

The New York Yankees were shut out by the Toronto Blue Jays, 4-0, on Friday night at Yankee Stadium. With the loss, New York has dropped 13 of their last 16 games and has scored three or fewer runs in 12 of those contests.

Jameson Taillon started for the Yankees and surrendered three runs on six hits over five innings while striking out five.


Lou Trivino, Wandy Peralta, Jonathan Loáisiga, and Ron Marinaccio had scoreless appearances in relief. Aroldis Chapman struggled as he recorded just one out and gave up a run.

New York had just four hits, none for extra bases.

The Yankees will try to get back in the win column on Saturday with Gerrit Cole on the mound. The first pitch is set for 1:05 p.m.
