Rochester Red Wings fall short in loss to Worcester

The Rochester Red Wings jumped out to an early lead and held it until the late innings before getting walked-off by the Worcester Red Sox, 2-1, on Wednesday afternoon at Polar Park. The six-game series is now even at a game apiece.

Reed Garrett allowed a two-out walk-off single to Triston Casas in the bottom of the ninth.

Erick Fedde made a rehab start with the Red Wings and tossed four shutout innings while striking out four. A 59-minute rain delay cut his start short.

Rochester plated their lone run in the top of the first inning on Jake Alu’s RBI fielder’s choice. Six of the nine starters recorded a hit. The team finished 1-for-7 with runners in scoring position and left 10 on base.

Joan Adon will get the ball on Thursday as the Red Wings look to bounce back. The first pitch is slated for 6:45 p.m.
