The New York Mets are expected to call up No. 2 prospect Brett Baty from Triple-A Syracuse, according to ESPN’s Jeff Passan.
The 22-year-old third baseman is set to join the team in Atlanta on Wednesday.
Baty, the Mets’ first-round pick in 2019, was batting .364 in six games with Triple-A Syracuse. Before that, he hit 19 homers in 89 games at Double-A Binghamton.
This comes after infielder Luis Guillorme was placed on the injured list with a groin injury and as Eduardo Escobar nurses a strained oblique.
