The Waterloo Central School District has received a $1,371,669 grant from the New York State Office of Mental Health to support the mental health of its students.
The grant includes funding for the District’s Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) Director, funding for a new social worker at Waterloo Middle School and stipends for members of the
District’s MTSS team and building wellness coaches.
“On behalf of the Waterloo Central School District, I would like to thank the New York State Office of Mental Health for this generous grant,” Superintendent of Schools Terri Bavis said.
“The wellness of our students and staff is paramount and is a priority goal of our District’s Strategic Plan. This funding will help us to provide additional services and support to our students, families, and our school community.”
The grant, which is for five years, is pending approval of the New York State Attorney General and Office of the State Comptroller.
